Jake Everglade – part one

This is just a test, really. If you like it, please comment, and if you guys want, I can write more. I am open to ideas and suggestions. This is my first time sharing my writing to the public. Hope you guys like it. 🙂

Jake Everglade was an ordinary person living in an ordinary city with an ordinary sister. At least, that was what he thought.

Jake Everglade walked down the alley and glanced at the stores around him. He eyed a butcher shop a couple of feet away from him. If he was fast enough, he might be able to nick a slice of ham for his sister and himself. Then again, if he got caught, those butcher knives would do their job. Better not to risk it, he thought. He scanned his surroundings for anything to eat. He spotted a McDonalds a couple of blocks away. Maybe he could beg for a dollar or two, and he could buy something.

Fish in a Tree Review

Ally has really changed throughout the story. In the beginning, she was so pessimistic. She thought that even barfing at your own birthday party would be better than bringing in something to show herself. She said that a box full of nothing or a can of dirt would show her personality. Then, she changed. She thought more and more of her dyslexia as a normal thing, not a burden. When Mr. Daniels told Ally how creative she was, she began to feel better. We left off when Ally has run away from a museum crying. Mr. Daniels comforts her and tells her how special she is. She told Mr. Daniels that she couldn’t read. That was the first time shed had told anyone about her problem, but I think that Mr. Daniels had figured it out even before she told him.
I think that Ally has a lot more friends now than she had in the beginning of the story. At first, she thought that she was a loner, but now, she has two best friends, and other friends, too. Keisha, Albert, and Oliver are just some of Ally’s friends. She has loyal friends that would back her up in any fight. Albert is just so hilarious. He takes some things so seriously, but doesn’t care about other things. He needs to collect moldy acorns to run a data sample on them, but he doesn’t care that kids are beating him up. That is just weird, but is also hilarious.
I think that Mr. Daniels is an amazing guy. He helped Ally figure out her true potential, and makes her feel better almost every day. Albert doesn’t like Mr. Daniels because he thinks that Mr. Daniels is too nosy, and thinks that Albert is getting abused by his parents.
I find this story very realistic. The actual story itself was based on the authors personal experiences a child, and I can very easily imagine a kid like Ally and a teacher like Mr. Daniels helping her.

An Open Letter to Star Wars

Dear Star Wars,
You may not have seemed fun at first, but you captivated me. When I watched The Phantom Menace: Episode 1, I thought it was horrible. Nothing in that fantasy world appealed to me.
After that, you slowly won me over. My eyes had to bear the torture of seeing the movie The Phantom Menace again. The street fights on Tatooine and the deadly battle through the core with deadly lasers added suspense and action to the movie.
After that, I watched the second movie. I just wanted to see how bad these movies can get, so I forced myself to watch the second movie. The Attack of the Clones shows small changes in both of the main characters, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan-Kenobi.
After that, I watched the rest of your movies in a course of two days. By the Revenge of the Sith, Anakin was turning evil, and at the end, he became Darth Vader. The end of this movie reveals that Obi-Wan has a softer side toward Anakin other than the teacher he is supposed to be. Again and again, I watched your movies. Long hours watching the movies drilled quotes of every character into my head.
On December 18, I want to be the first one to see The Force Awakens. I can’t wait to see the movie! To me, December 18 is a milestone in history. The start of a new trilogy. The start of a new evil. The start of a new lightsaber. It is also my friend’s birthday. 🙂
I think that everybody should watch Star Wars, even if it doesn’t seem fun at first. Give it another chance. I used to hate Star Wars, and now, I am one of its top fans. I think that Star Wars is a good experience for everyone, and can actually make a person’s day better.
Sincerely,
Akash
